My favorite season is summer. What’s yours? Well, Winnie’s favorite time of the year is Winter. And in Tiffany Obeng’s (Yes! Another new book!), “Winnie Loves Winter”, Winnie tells you all the reasons why winter is, in her opinion, the BEST season of them all. From winter wear, to games played in the snow, you too will want to grab a warm blanket and snuggle up to “the sweet goodness of hot cocoa, a nice warm fire and yummy soup.”
And just when you’re ready to grab your snow boots to really appreciate all the delights of winter, Winnie shares even more things to love about winter! There are terrific fun facts that will make your little one feel like an expert on the season and which they’ll no doubt want to share with everyone.
This book is so much fun! The illustrations are cute and vibrant. Parents will love that the story is relatable to everyone, as it does not tie the season to any particular holiday. It simply expresses positivity and a young child’s joy with the winter months. Who wouldn’t love that?
As usual Tiffany Obeng is excellent at simplifying topics in the most effective ways for children. Not since Ezra Keats’ “A Snowy Day”, have I read such an enjoyable winter themed book featuring a character whose skin tone matches mine. It’s a diverse book win!!
I can’t wait to see what else Tiffany Obeng has in store for us. Maybe a story about spring, fall or my favorite, summer!!
